District Council 9 of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades is an organizational of painter, decorators, wall covers, drywall finishers, sign painters, metal polishers, bridge & structural steel painters, civil service painters, lead abatement workers, glaziers & architectural metal glassworkers, paint makers, paint makers and allied trades.

The New York State Laborers’ Union represents over 40,000 members employed in the construction industry and other fields throughout the state. Our members are organized into more than 36 local unions and 5 district councils.
We are a proud affiliate of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA). which represents more than 800,000 workers in the construction trades, factories, hospitals and many other workplaces.
The union has established three organizations — known collectively as the New York State Tri-Funds — to assist our members and affiliated contractors. Operating both individually and in partnership, the Tri-Funds bring together the union and its affiliated contractors to address important issues in a fast-paced industry that is changing all the time.
- NYS LECET has pioneered the concept of labor-management cooperation as the most productive way to expand work opportunities and market share for Laborers and their affiliated contractors. Two priorities for NYS LECET are transportation funding and prevailing wage enforcement.
- The NYS Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund focuses its considerable resources and expertise on the many health, wellness and safety issues Laborers and their families face.
- The NYS Laborers’ PAC is one of the most active and successful union political action organizations in the country.
